Welcome to the Heartland Artists Gallery's

Annual Small Wonders Juried Exhibit

 

This year's exhibit will be held both in-person and online, and although there will not be an opening reception, we will have an online awards ceremony via Zoom.  (A link will be made available on this site and emailed to artists prior to the meeting.) The deadline for submissions is April 25th. Please read the submission guidelines on this page. Once you have read them and are ready to register, click the "Register & Apply" button above and follow the steps. If you have any questions about submitting work or would prefer to submit via mail or email, information on alternatives are below.

ELIGIBILITY: 

IMPORTANT:  This exhibit is BOTH in-person AND online.  The artist must be able to submit a photo AND deliver their artwork to the Heartland Artists Gallery.

 

Open to artists in all media. Each entry must be the original concept and work of the artist. Entries must not previously have been shown in a Heartland Artists Small Wonders Show. Final determination of what constitutes eligible work or inappropriate subject matter will rest with the judge and/or Heartland Artists, Inc. Submission of an entry to this exhibit constitutes agreement by the entrant to all conditions set forth in this prospectus. 

 

ENTRY FEE: 

$10.00 per piece entered; no limit. All entry fees are non- refundable. Payment can be made via credit card on this website.  If you would prefer to send a check, please contact Anna at 574-316-0264 or heartlandartistsgallery@gmail.com to make arrangements.  Proceeds from entries will benefit the Heartland Artist Art Education Program.

 

SIZE REQUIREMENTS: 

Outside frame dimensions on 2D work may not measure greater than 12” x 12” maximum. 3D work may not exceed 12” x 12” maximum including base and/or pedestal.  Work will be measured by Gallery volunteers during hand delivery on May 2nd.

  

PHOTOGRAPHING & UPLOADING WORK: 

1.     Images of artwork should have no visible background or frame and artwork under glass should show no reflections. 

2.     Images must represent the work accurately.  For help photographing artwork visit these helpful pages:

3.     If photographing 3-dimensional objects or jewelry, place them on either a white or black non-textured background. 

4.     Images should be in JPG, PNG or PDF file format.

6.     Heartland Artists, Inc. reserves the right to reject artwork that does not meet size requirements, is not photographed correctly, or reflects poorly on the artist and the Gallery. 

       

PRESENTATION: 

Work on paper must be framed and under glass or Plexiglas.  Only wire hanging system accepted.  No sawtooth or single eye hooks.  No wet pieces will be accepted.  Gallery wrap canvas is accepted.  Work submitted without compliance to guidelines will be rejected and entry fees forfeited.  

 

RECEIVING OF WORK: 

Art work must be hand delivered to Heartland Artists Gallery, 101 North Michigan St., Plymouth, IN. Work will be accepted Sunday, May 2nd, 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. 

 

SALE OF WORK: 

One entry may be marked “Not for Sale” (NFS); all others must be for sale. A commission of 35% on non-member works

sold, and 25% commission for member works sold will be retained by Heartland Artists. Sales tax will NOT be collected on pieces sold. Artists are responsible for including the sales tax amount in the price of their piece, and for paying tax for their own art sales. 

 

RETURN OF ENTRIES: 

Unsold art work may be picked up on Saturday, May 29, from 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
 

CHECKLIST:

1. Register and submit photographs through this website or email no later than April 25th, 2021. (Please contact Anna if choosing to email your submissions).
2. Drop off art at the Heartland Artists Gallery Sunday, May 2nd, from 10am - 3pm.
3. Attend virtual awards ceremony May 8th at 10:30am.
4. Pick up work Saturday, May 29th, from 10am - 4pm.
